What will I be doing?

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a specific student on a predominantly one-to-one basis. Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team, you will help the student access learning, achieve their potential, and develop their confidence, independence, and social skills.

The successful candidate will build a positive and supportive relationship with the student, adapting learning activities where required and providing both academic and pastoral support throughout the school day. You will play an important role in promoting inclusion, ensuring the student can participate fully in lessons and wider school life while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment.

This role would suit someone who is patient, flexible, and committed to helping children thrive, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the student’s individual needs and progress.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths).
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
  • A proactive, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting students.
  • The ideal candidate for this role will want to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your position within these.

What is in it for me?

We care about our staff and are committed to creating a positive and supportive working environment. In addition to salary, we offer:

  • Generous Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contributions of over 19%
  • Employee Reward Scheme, including high street discounts and access to a staff wellbeing centre
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Access to on-site gym facilities at selected locations
  • The opportunity to work in a unique and highly regarded day and boarding academy.
