This is a term time post of 30 hours per week. Term time only. Monday to Friday 8:30 to 3:15 with 30 minutes for lunch.
What will I be doing?
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and friendly one to one Teaching Assistant to support a child with specific learning needs on a one-to-one and small group basis.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience or an interest in working with children with complex needs.
- Can develop confidence and self-esteem but also establish clear boundaries
- Is experienced in working with children who have special educational needs, has a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting children’s needs, with a resilient mind-set.
- Can demonstrate good communication, listening, and questioning skills
- Is committed to inclusion
- Is able to promote high standards of behaviour through positive language and attitudes
- Is aware of dysregulation strategies, support for speech and language challenges and able to use play-based approaches
- Has the ability to remain calm under all circumstances
- Is willing and able to work collaboratively and flexibly with staff, parents/carers and other agencies as required.
The role will involve supporting a child who has specific needs.
