We are delighted to be advertising for a teaching assistant to join our team, working in our Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP). Our ELP is led by a qualified teacher who is an autism specialist and by a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is a nurture specialist.
Our ELP offers a small group of learners a bespoke, creative curriculum that meets their needs. Their needs include: communication and interaction, cognition and learning, sensory and SEMH. The children in the group are a delight to work with – they love learning and treasure the warm relationships they have built with their key adults.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to become part of a friendly and welcoming team who are committed to securing the best possible outcomes for every child. You will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from two outstanding practitioners who are inspirational in how they interact with and support the children. Our ELP team works very closely with our SENCo who supports a collaborative approach.
Our ELP team receive weekly dedicated time to plan and prepare for the following week; this supports not only the quality of the provision but also the team’s well-being.
We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds and previous career paths and are also open to taking on an apprentice. We would ideally be looking for someone to work full-time but would consider part-time, for the right candidate.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
Our ideal candidate, is someone who:
- has excellent communication skills, including the ability to support pupils to self-regulate and manage their stress responses
- is resilient, patient, flexible, empathetic and creative
- has good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
- has the ability to build professional, positive and trusting relationships with children and families
- has the ability to remain calm and rational in challenging situations, and seek the support of colleagues when necessary
- has the ability to support pupils in a positive, predictable and consistent way
- has the ability to scaffold children’s thinking, and support them to self-reflect and problem solve
- has an understanding of how children with additional needs learn
- has experience of delivering interventions such as ELSA, Time to Talk, Creative well-being or Speech & Language.
