About the job

Key information

  • Permanent contract
  • Salary: £15,452 – £16,733 per annum for 22 hours/week
  • The 22 hours can be worked across a 5-day week.

What will I be doing?

You’ll be responsible for the capture, maintenance and coordination of Somerset Council’s County Terrier data on our property database.

This role is a statutory requirement within a property service whose portfolio currently consists of over 3,200 land holdings, 750 Establishments and over 2,000 buildings.

Using our Terrier mapping, you’ll be able to indicate Somerset Council’s interest in further land and buildings to add to our portfolio. For our existing portfolio, you’ll be maintaining information and key dates relating to leasing, rent breaks or any covenants placed against the land.

As well as using your technical skills to accurately maintain this mapping information, you will be showing an understanding of the legal documentation related to the land/property, the previous transactions that have taken place and the statutory compliant responsibilities linked to it.

Once a legal transaction has been completed, you’ll need to ensure this is updated on our systems. You’ll also need to notify key professional staff and any other teams involved in the process.

You’ll also be the first point of contact for colleagues within the Council, as well as members of the public, for any land ownership queries that may arise.

So, as you can see, this is a varied role requiring a lot of different skills. If you have everything we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you!
