Young Somerset is looking to recruit Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners to join our dynamic and growing Mental Health and Wellbeing Team.
We are currently operating through a blend of digital and face to face work. The role may also require some countywide travel.
What will I be doing?
As a Trainee CWP, you’ll:
- Deliver low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (LI-CBT) to children, young people and families, either 1:1 or in group settings
- Work in community venues, schools, and shared spaces across Somerset
- Be part of a diverse team offering both clinical and non-clinical mental health support
- Build strong partnerships with schools, health services, and community organisations
- Learn about and contribute to the wider work of Young Somerset, supporting our mission to put young people first
You’ll attend all taught and self-study days required by the education provider (hybrid study in Exeter or Bristol), as specified within the National Low Intensity Curriculum, and spend the rest of the week applying your new skills in practice.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
Do you have a passion for supporting children, young people and families?
Are you motivated, compassionate, and ready to make a difference?
Can you work both independently and as part of a team, bringing energy and creativity to your role?
If you have at least two years’ experience working with children and young people and are keen to develop your skills in mental health and wellbeing, we’d love to hear from you.
What is in it for me?
We believe in looking after our staff, recognising good practice, and providing genuine opportunities for progression.
Why join us?
At Young Somerset, we go further for young people — inspiring them and collaborating widely to achieve highquality outcomes.
