We are looking for motivated Trainee Solicitors to join our dynamic legal team at Somerset Council. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a supportive environment that values growth, flexibility, and innovation.
What will I be doing?
We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:
- Participating in a structured training programme leading to qualification as a solicitor.
- Assisting with legal research, drafting documents, and providing advice under supervision.
- Gaining experience across a range of legal practice areas.
- Supporting casework, attending meetings, and contributing to team projects.
- Upholding professional standards and complying with Solicitors Regulation Authority requirements.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

You will need to have:
- Completed LPC or SQE qualifications.
