North Newton Primary School can be found in the heart of the village of North Newton, just a few minutes from J24 of the M5 in Somerset. We currently have 90 children on roll across 4 classes.
Our children are kind and respectful towards others and enjoy coming to school. We have strong links with parents, governors and the wider community, recognising the value that this brings to our children and their education. What will I be doing?
We are looking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, reliable and flexible Wraparound Care Team Member to join our wraparound team and work after-school during term time.
The role of the Wraparound Care Team Member involves:
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the after-school provision and providing support to colleagues
- Supervising pupils in designated areas of the school (including internal, playground or external spaces)
- Ensuring the childrens’ safety, welfare and general conduct through appropriate application of the school’s policies and procedures
- Assisting with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment
- Consulting with children and involve them in planning activities
- Ensuring children go home with a notified adult
- Providing light snacks and refreshments and ensuring that hygiene and safety standards are met
- Ordering and purchasing food and resources as required
- Providing support to colleagues
- Some record keeping; including child protection and safeguarding concerns when necessary
- Undertaking appropriate and regular training (provided by the school)
- Being aware of the need for confidentiality regarding pupils in their care
