Following the retirement of our current Headteacher, the Governors of Combe St Nicholas Primary School are seeking to appoint a highly motivated leader who will take the school forward and develop it further whilst maintaining its reputation locally for providing excellent education and life experiences for all the children at the school.

We are a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School within the Diocese of Bath and Wells. As a church school we are keen to promote a Christian ethos within our community. We maintain close links with the village church and the diocese. The first school was built on this site in 1847, situated next to the church in the centre of a picturesque village, surrounded by open farmland.

What will I be doing?

We are looking for a Headteacher who:

• Will maintain the highest standards of Safeguarding at all times
• Will lead on enhancing the church school vision, values and ethos and promoting church school distinctiveness
• Will build on the strong curriculum we have in place
• Will utilise our amazing and unique local environment by enhancing our forest school provision
• Will improve on our sports provision through creative ideas to resourcing
• Will make the most of our location by embedding the school in the community
• Will take the lead in marketing and growing our school
• Will know how to motivate and galvanise a small but committed staff body
• Will work with the board and the community to shape further the educational objectives of the school
