What will I be doing?
A new and exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and semi-skilled person to join our friendly and nurturing school which is set in the idyllic village of East Coker. We are seeking a permanent Site Manager who is practical, hardworking and organised to take a lead role in maintaining our well-kept buildings and grounds. The successful candidate will take a lead in the health and safety of the school and have a particular focus on general repairs, decoration and maintenance across the school site. They will enjoy being part of a school team and help encourage our children to respect and be proud of their school environment. There is a requirement to work some weeks in the school holidays with flexible working hours. You will be entitled to 5.6 weeks paid holiday.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
- Leading school building and grounds improvement projects alongside the project manager
- Managing contractors, maintenance and working with Local Authority surveyors.
- Managing health and safety requirements through regular monitoring, meticulous record-keeping and working with the Local Authority health and safety inspectors.
- Taking pride in managing the general upkeep of the buildings and grounds to a high standard.
- Undertaking a range of maintenance, decoration and minor repairs across the site.
