What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We are losing our wonderful SENCO. The LA have had the good sense to snap her up, so we’re looking for someone who thinks they can fill these fabulous boots.
Our small village school is achieving great things, academically and socially for our children. Wellbeing and relationships lie at the heart of our work, and understanding then embedding this has turned our school around. This was significantly driven by our SENCO, and we are looking for someone with the passion to join the team and continue to lead on this.
The right person for this role will be ready to be a highly involved member of the SLT. You will preferably already be DDSL, or willing to train to become one. You will have worked with or be aware of the work of the MHST team in Somerset. You’ll be able to show that you can handle challenging conversations with a wide range of working partners, including staff, governors, parents, the Local Authority and the many other agencies that you will work with to carry out this role.
What is in it for me?
We are extremely proud of the provision we have in place for our children with additional needs. We use CPD to ensure high quality teaching in every class, supporting the majority to thrive alongside their peers. We have successfully established a support base called The Beehive, where a smaller number of children are supported.
This is a fantastic team of children, parents, staff and governors and the successful candidate will find this a rewarding, challenging and inspiring role. To find out more, we would strongly encourage you to come and visit, as well as looking through our website.
